About Us
The
Nazareth Hospital is a district general hospital (146
beds), accredited by the Israel Ministry of Health and is
part of the network of health care for the Galilee region.
The hospital serves the city of Nazareth and the
surrounding area, with a population of about 150,000.
The Hospital is
located in the historic city of Nazareth, which claims as
it most famous citizen, Jesus of Nazareth. Following the
example of Jesus, the Nazareth Hospital aims to extend
health care to all, in a spirit of reconciliation between
peoples: Arabs and Jews, Christian, Moslem and Druze. All
of these groups are represented in the staff and
patients. Languages spoken include Arabic, Hebrew,
English and Russian.
Often called the
“English Hospital” by local residents, Nazareth Hospital
is owned and operated by EMMS Nazareth, a successor to the
Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society (Scotland) and
receives support from people and organizations around the
world

department. A team of four physiotherapists offers
